(on pp.5-18 through 5-21):
1 When signing his name in several marriages which he performed in Missouri he sometimes signed as "Thomas M. Casebolt" but often used his full name "Thomas McNeal Casebolt".
2. Thomas first appears as a taxable on a tax list in Bath Co, VA in 1793; he must have been 21 by then.
3 Powell; Yates, p.59 says they married in Virginia. But I have found no official record of their marriage. If his wife’s parents were then living in Lee County, that surely is where they married.
4 The date is from Yates, pp.34 and 59 and the gravestone in the family cemetery in Christian Co, MO. Yates, p.59: died in MO. The place of death was most likely on or near his son’s farm within the jurisdiction of Greene County, Missouri in the northeastern corner of present-day Christian county.
5 I have found no birth certificate or family bible which "proves" parentage, nor have I seen any official document which says Thomas was the son of John and Hannah, but he clearly was not the son of Henry4 or Robert3; he was closely associated with John1 as a young man in Lee County, and surely was his son by his first wife Hannah1.1.
7 Christina was named as Jacob Blubaugh’s daughter and heir in law suits in Lee County, Virginia in 1830-32 (Lee Co, Court Order Book, 3:304). I know of no source which names her mother or maiden name.
