TWIGS Every Name Index

TWIGS, the official newsletter of the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society, is published six times per year and sent free to all members. The newsletter not only features articles on the society’s projects and programs, but also includes original articles and book summaries of interest to all those doing family research.

In response to many requests, we have compiled an index of every name contained in the TWIGS newsletters from June 1978 through May 2006. Lucille Davis and Norma Phelps have diligently reviewed the 28 years of newsletters and entered 32,029 names to create this index! Specific questions regarding this index should be sent to Martha Latko, who led this project.

How to Use the Online Index
To check for a family surname of interest, simply click on the first letter of the last name to get to that section of the alphabet. If a name is mentioned more than once in an article, the number of references in a particular article is enclosed in parentheses next to the name. The date and page of the newsletter are listed.

Once you have the name, date of the TWIGS newsletter and page of the reference, you may order a copy of the specific newsletter. Click on Our Publications for complete information on ordering newsletter copies.
