Mary Jane Lamar Ratlief Obituary -- "A Sudden Death"

Mrs. Hugh Ratcliff, living in the frame building on Mr. A. Adams' place was found dead in her bed yesterday about half past four o'clock. After dinner she complained of a pain in her side. Her husband was at work in the garden and came in to get seed, spoke to her but supposed she was asleep, and did not disturb her. About an hour afterward he came in again. She was still apparently asleep with her four weeks old child nuring. He tried to arouse her, but discovered that she was dead. She leaves six children. Mr. Ratcliff has lived here only a short time.
