DIES WHILE SHE RIDES IN BUGGY

Happy Trip From Home of Daughter is Darkened by Visit of Death 

Laughing and chatting as she drove home after an early visit at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Wilson of 408 North Hickory, dropped dead in a buggy at 8:30 o'clock this morning. Another daughter, who accompanied the mother, said that Mrs. Wilson threw her head back several times and laughed as they were talking and that she did not notice anything peculiar when she again threw back her head. As her mother said nothing, the daughter looked at her and saw that she was biting her lip and seemed to be suffering. 

This buggy was stopped at once and the woman was carried to the home of a neighbor, but was dead before assistance could be rendered. The body was removed later to the Wilson home. 

No funeral arrangements have been made, as the children of the deceased who reside here are awaiting word from relatives in Indiana. 

Arrangements are in charge of the Lewis-Landrith funeral directors. 

The death of Mrs. Wilson is the third death in this family during the year. James Wesley Wilson, husband of the deceased died about 12 months ago, and W. C. Wilson, her son, died a few months later. 

Three sons and two daughters survive her. They are: Charles, Jimmy and Arthur, Mrs. Flora Horn and Mrs. Katie Jones, all of this city. Mrs. Wilson was 58 years of age at the time of her death. She has resided here with her family a number of years and has many friends in this city. Her sons, who are employed at the ice plant are also well known."

The next days edition reads: "WILSON FUNERAL TOMORROW - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Wilson, who died suddenly yesterday morning will be held at the residence, 408 North Hickory street, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be made at the South Heights Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Lewis-Landrith funeral directors.ss

The children of Annie wrote a "Card of Thanks" in the May 10, 1924 edition of the Sapulpa Herald. It reads: "CARD OF THANKS - We desire to thank our friends and neighbors for their kindness and many beautiful floral offerings, also Sister Cox for her words of sympathy at the death of our loved one. (Signed) Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Horn, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wilson."

It was determined Anna died suddenly due to apoplexy - or in modern terms - a stroke. An elderly cousin, whose father was Annie's youngest son, told me Annie was badly frightened by a train crossing the railroad tracks shortly before her death.
