Stone Bluff Cemetery
Submitted by Debbie K. Young
Stone Bluff Cemetery (believed to be the original cemetery) is located at Section 11, R15E, T16N, Stone Bluff Township, Wagoner Co. OK. One mile west of highway 72. Abandoned . . . on top of a hill in an open pasture. Some sites still maintained and few burial places are fenced. Total number of graves is unknown. This appears to be the original Stone Bluff cemetery. Another Stone Bluff Cemetery exists about two miles west of this one. It is fenced and maintained. Today it is called Gibson Cemetery.

This cemetery was originally surveyed by James Tyner & Alice Tyner Timmons. Researcher Donald Wise surveyed the cemetery a second time, however, he was able to find only 17 of the 30 graves recorded by Tyner & Timmons. Wise did locate and record an additional monument for Amanda Armstrong that was over looked by Tyner & Timmons.
For genealogical purposes, Wise, included the full birth and death dates (Tyner & Timmons recorded only the year).
Thanks to James Karns for his help in locating the original Stone Bluff Cemetery.
