Sirvillian S. Neil and Elva A. ___ were married about 1899. They appeared in the census in 1900 in Macomb, St. Lawrence, NY. #19/20. Neil, Sirvillan, born Jul 1850, age 49, married 1 yr., day laborer; Elva, wife, born Sep 1853, age 46, marired 1 yr. 2 children, 1 living; Chester, son, born Jun 1887, age 13; All, incl. parents, born NY. [LaVerne Freeman transcription] Elva A. ___ was born in Sep 1853. She appeared in the census in 1905 in Macomb, St. Lawrence, NY. 2nd District, Page14, line 17, on the Gouverneur-Black Lake road: Neil, Elva A., servant, white, female, age 52, born U.S., citizen, housework, in the household of McLelan Ward, farmer. See separate listing for Sirvillian. I believe Elva may be Elva Eliza [or Elva Anna] Stark Eustis, widow of James Eustis [who died in 1885]. She was born in 1853, according to her gravestone, which matches up with Elva's age in the census listings with Sirvillian. She died in 1908, which doesn't quite match up with Sirvillian's marriage to Laura Moore in 1907. However, it would not be the first time that the death date on a gravestone was off by a year. It would help to get an exact death date for Elva Eustis. Also, the possibility exists that Elva and Sirvillian never married, though the 1900 census says they had been married within the year.

Sirvillian S. Neil and Laura E. Moore were married on 26 Feb 1907. Laura is not mentioned in Sirvillian's obit, though she survived him. Likewise, Sirvillian's name is not mentioned in Laura's obit, though she is called Mrs. Neil. Laura E. Moore (daughter of Edward Moore and Sarah Ann ___) was born on 9 Dec 1850/51 in Ontario, Canada. She died on 5 Apr 1935. Her obituary appeared on 9 Apr 1935 in an unknown newspaper, as follows: "Last Rites Held For Mrs. Moore. Pope Mills, Apr. 9--Services for Mrs. Laura Moore Neil, 84, were held at her home, Sunday afternoon, Apr 7 at 2 o'clock.
"Reverend Mang officiated and burial was made at Edwardsville. Bearers were W. D. Hutchinson, McKinley Fishel, Carle C. Brown and Robert Salisbury. The floral tributes were beautiful.
"Mrs. Neil's death occurred Friday morning, Apr. 5 after a lingering illness. She spent nearly all her life in this vicinity and had many friends and acquaintances who regret her passing. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude TenEyck and Mrs. Clarence Worden both of Seneca Falls and Mrs. Ethel Mitchell who cared for her mother during her illness; three sons, Earnest Kelley, with whom she lived; Delbert Kelley of Morristown and Loren of Seneca Falls; besides several grandchildren.
"Mrs. Neil was twice married. Her first husband was Michael Kelley.
