July 19th, 2012 meeting of the Lafayette Genealogical Society was called to order by President Brenda Fuselier. A moment of silence for our ancestors, and those having served or are currently serving in our military, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Wade Falcon was introduced as speaker for the meeting. Since he is a Canary Island descendant, he has done much research, genealogical and historical on the Canary Islanders. Some of his work goes back to 1508 in Spain.

The 1940 Census Indexing is complete, and can be found on www.familysearch.org.

Lona Bourque motioned to adjourn, James Bourque 2nd. Motion passed. Members enjoyed refreshments.
