George E. Thompson 84, Rural Robinson, Illinois died Tuesday October 28, 2003 at the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson
Illinois. George was born on September 29, 1919 in Lawrenceville, Illinois and was the son of Everett and Laura (Gulf) Thompson. On October 30, 1938, he married Vera (Riker) and she survives him. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Getty Oil Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Hobbs, New Mexico he also attended the Hardinville Christian Church.
George is survived by his wife Vera; one son and daughter-in-law: Sidney & Sharon Thompson; one daughter and son-in-law: Ruby & George Waller; four grandchildren: Jennifer Villponda, Bruce Thompson, Randy Buhalts & Scott Thompson; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding George in death were his parents.
Body to be creamated and Memorial service held at a later date.
