D. W. Organ, formerly of this county, but who has been living in the state of Washington since October, 1880, died at Montesano, Wash,. on Jan. 5, 1899. Aged 86 years, 8 months and 28 days. He was born in KY on April 12, 1812, and came to Crawford county in about 1830 and settled near Palestine, and afterwards located on a farm half a mile north of Duncanville, where he remained until he went west in 1880. He was married to Lavina Donnell in about 1837, who died in 1871. Eight children were born to them four boys and four girls. Of these the following survive: Mrs. Guy Eagleton of Crawford county, Kan; Jas. D. Organ, who lives in Caillo, Wash; Mrs. Anna Longenecker of Portland, OR; Mrs. J. J. Nethery, of Montesano, Wash, at whose house Mr. Organ died; Denis M. Organ of this city, and Ms. Doretha Higgins of Palestine.

Mr. Organ was a member of the Church of God and was well and favorable known to all the old settlers of this county, who will be sorry to hear of his death.
