Peggy Jo Davis, 53, of rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 8:48 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004 at her home after an extended illness. She was born December 27, 1950 in Rantoul, IL, the daughter of Herman F. Martin and Roberta C. Osborne Martin. She was a secretary at Marathon and at the Pottery in Robinson. She was a member of the Pearl Chapel Church, and was one of only two women in the United States that are honorary members of the U. S. Navy Seals. She is also a member of the "Lady Of A Knight" of the Nam Knights.

She married Sammy Davis on December 27, 1968 and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Donnie "Cecil" Johnson, rural Flat Rock; her two sons, Beau Davis, rural Flat Rock and Blue Davis, Indianapolis, IN; 3 grandchildren, Stevie, Sami Jo, and Savannah Johnson, all of rural Flat Rock; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan Morris, Minneapolis, MN, Tami and Dave Ikemire, rural Flat Rock, Rhonda and Dean Dunlap, Cody, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Brother Bob McCarter is in charge of services. Burial is in the Hardinville Cemetery, rural Hardinville, IL. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 13th and until service time on Sunday.
