It is possible that David and Mary were the source for all or only a
part of these Powers. However they were related in some way, even if
cousins, because they were associated with land transactions and had
common in-laws

May be d/o Joseph Glover. David Powers' first survey was in Rugby area
of Grayson Co VA 1782 with a commissioner's certificate for 150 acres
already possessing 50. Widow Mary was the assignee of Joseph Glover
for her land grant obtained in 1796. Joseph Glover was also a militia
mate of David Powers in the Elk Creek Militia 1782 and 1783 of then
Montgomery Co VA

did not marry because she was collecting the widow's pension
for John Gobble. Whatever the case, no marriage record has
ever been found and the children used their mother's surname

with Johan Peter Kinser, Walter Kinser, and young Peter Kinser and
Christian Tarter. Two neighbors of George in Glade Hollow were
