Married - Peterson-Bonnett - On Saturday, July 1st, by E D Gumarer, Esq., Lieut. Alexander Peterson, of Belle Plaine, and Mary Bonnett, a teacher in the school in this village. Lieut. Peterson, and his wife have our best wishes for their future happiness. May they live long enough to enjoy all of Life's blessings and non of it's ills.

Hewitt, Postmaster Spence Wiley and Miss Rhoda McCord, all of this village. Spencer, may you and your gentle bride, pluck the roses of life and never feel their thorns, and through life have no trying campaign to undergo, no forced marches to make, and at peaceful eve, "go into camp" by the clear waters of the River of Eternal Life.

Wilks, Esq., on Oct 13th, 1867, by D H Pulcifer, Esq., Mr. Hance Christenson of Pine River, Waushara county, to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Wilks, of Richmond, Shawano Co. The newly married pair receive our hearty congratulations and may they live long and happily.

6 Jan 1870

Married on the 4th inst., by C. H. Upham, Esq., Court Commissioner, at his office in this village Mr. Joseph Wah-ta-sha and Miss Ke-pas-can      Ne- sheen, all of Keshena. The bride and groom went through with the hymenial ceremony with caucasian regularity, even to the presentation of a highly flavored cigar to the gentleman of the press, who witnesses the marriage. Long life to the happy couple.

We congratulate Marion and Maggie on the favorable auspices which they begin the journey of life, and hope as they pass along down the stream of time, there will be no storms gather (a few squalls will do no harm) to darken their pathway, but that they may enjoy their full share of connubial bliss.

Married - April 14th, 1872, at the M. E Church in Shawano, by Rev. T. C. Wilson, Rev. W. W. Woodruff, pastor of the M. E church, to Miss Josephine Stevens, daughter of John Stevens, Esq. of Shawano. Notice that this marriage was to take place having been slyly whispered around, had the effect to fill the church to its utmost capacity. The Pastor, during his brief time he has been among us, has won the respect and esteem of all; while the young lady is no less beloved and respected. Through the journey of life they will have the best wishes of many friends in Shawano for their happiness and prosperity.

This being the first marriage ceremony perpetrated by Squire Loomer, his friends who witnessed it escorted him to the Wescott House and Pulcifer was soon ahead $1. for cigars.
