Jack and Gertye Amonett Family
This is an early photo of the Jack and Gertye Amonett family at the old Dr. Francis Marion Amonett
house near Buffalo Valley. In addition to Jack and Gertye are their two earliest born children,
Mildred, b. 1909 and Douglas, b. 1910. The house was built about 1870 and burned in 1931.
This picture was made about 1912. The woman standing to the right is unknown.
Jack was the son of Dr. Francis Marion Amonett (1839-1901), a Capt., F Company, 16th Infantry, CSA.
His mother was Virginia Taylor Maddux (1848-1909).
Gertye was the daughter of James Marlin Young (1863-1934) and Emma Sue Cardwell ( 1864-1961).
