NOTE: According to an interview of James Harvey Manis published in A History of Sweetwater Valley by William B. Lenoir, Ephraim Manis came to Monroe CO, TN ca. 1819 from Hawkins CO, TN. He is enumerated on 1830 Monroe CO, TN census but moved ca. 1834 to McMinn CO, TN where he lived the remainder of his life.
