Wedding Announcements in "Southern Home" - The Jan. 4, 1875 issue of "Southern Home," a Charlotte, N. C. weekly newspaper edited by Daniel H. Hill, Confederate general and York County native, carried this list of wedding announcements of York County people.
What happened when there was no will?
Kings Mountain Guards - The Yorkville Enquirer printed the following list of officers and men of the Kings Mountain Guards on May 9, 1861. At the time the men were at Sullivan's Island near Charleston, S.C.
Jack of all Trades - Dr. Alfred Craven
Historic York - Historical marker erected in 1960 at the York County Courthouse site on the corner of Congress and Liberty Streets in the town of York by the York County Historical Commission.
