 From the lips of Henry Jackson Surrett, to his grandson Forest Surrett who was living at 109 Woodlawn Ave., Union, SC 29379; On Oct 03, 1971. ( may be deceased now have not heard from them in some time). They were adament about the spelling and pronunication of Surrett. (with the "U" and "E")
 Henry J. SURRETT was a small fellow, when a lawman by the name of Henry came to serve a bench warrent on his Dad, Obed did not surrender and Henry killed him.
 This was in what is now Henderson Co., NC. James PATTON took young Henry J. SURRETT to raise, first to Transylvania Co., NC. when of age gave Henry $100.00 and a good horse, Henry went to Sandy Mush, Buncombe Co., NC. where the rest of his famlly was.
his Mother Mae (Allison) SURRETT married the Mr. Henry as his half-brother.
 Uncle "Eb" HENRY was known to the family and lived in Madison Co.
