Occupation: He practiced law, was president of an academy, and was a state senator. NOTES: The journal of Enoch Place states that he visited George C. Peavey on Saturday 5 June 1847 at the home of his father Hudson Peavey Esquire. George had a very impressive business as an attorney are Law in Exeter. Then he had an accident which caused him to have a lameness in his back after which he had been laid up for 10 months . Other records describe the strength of character of George as he continued to work after his accident despite a great deal of pain and very poor eye site. His accomplishments would have been worthy of a strong healthy person which made them even more admirable as he had to overcome much in order to live a productive life. Friday, February 1, 1861, Enoch Place brought Sister Tebbets, widow of the late Judge Tebbets to see her sick daughter, the wife of George C. Peavey Esquire. |
