An unknown person was mentioned in the will of William Robinson dated on 28 August 1771 in Halifax County, North Carolina. Mr. Robinson's will, probated that same year, left 5 pounds to his daugther, Sarah Robinson, "to give her a year of schooling." He asked that Sarah "remain in the care of Ruth Shelton until she is 21." His other daughter, Elizabeth, was left in the care of Betty Lewis.1
Ruth (?) was named executrix and an heir in the will of Ladimon SHELTON dated on 2 June 1786 in Halifax County, North Carolina. "I give to my loving wife Ruth Shelton one third part of my land lying between
Burnt Coat and Jacket Swamp during her natural life Item I give to my loving wife Ruth Shelton one third part of my present Estate to her and her heirs forever."2
