ROSS, James , was b. in Fifeshire, Scot. Upon first coming to Canada he set. in the "Paisley Block," Guelph Tp., and removed to Pilkington in 1848, where he owns 365 acres on lots 5, 6 and 7, con. 4. Mr. Ross is now living retired in Elora, at the age of 79. He takes a great interest in the affairs of the Presbyterian church. In his political views, he is a Liberal, and has been Councilor and Reeve in his township. H m. Jane Bissett, who d. in 1905, at the age of 66. Issue: Cecilia (d.), Mrs. E. R. Patmore (d.), James, Mrs. W. G. Rose, John M., George M. and Mrs. Andrew Aitchison.

James m. Annie Veitch, set. Elora. Mrs. W. G. Rose, in Prince Albert. John M., m. Nellie McLeay. Issue: Mary. He lives on the old homestead.

George M., also on one of the old farms, is a prosperous farmer. He carries on mixed farming, and feeds cattle for export. He m. Miss Watson. Issue: James W.

Mrs. Andrew Aitchison. set. in Elora.
