ROLLS, John , Sr. (d.), was b. Eng., 1792. He m. Grace Lee in Eng., and came to Canada about 1840. They set. first near Barrie, where they remained until the early fifties, then they pioneered their way to Maryborough, being amongst the very first settlers. The and his sons cleared their farm and in 1876 he passed away. Issue: Mark, Rosetta, Herbert, John, Jr.: Richard, Thomas, George, Rueben, Albert, and Theodore.

The latter is the proprietor of the Grand Central Hotel, Listowel.

John, Jr., m. Martha Willis. Issue: Thomas, George, Grace (d.), Francis, Augustus, John, and Edmund,

Edmund, m. Annie Woodisse. Issue: Laura M., Dorothy G., and Nora A. He owns 100 acres, the east half, lot 8, con. 7, and also rents 100 acres adjoining. The family have always represented the best citizenship, and have been progressive and successful.
