RODGER, William (d.), was one of the earliest blacksmiths in the township of West Garafraxa, and the first to locate in Belwood. He m. Barbara Gerrie. Issue: Barbara, m. James Townsend; Mary , unm., set. U.S., a teacher in Indian Missions; Alexander, Jean, unm., teacher, Cal.; William, set. on the old homestead; Nancy, a doctor, m. Rev. George Shensas, of the Methodist church, Alberta; Libby, teacher in S.A., brought out by that Government there. Mr. Rodger d. in 1890, and his wife d. in 1901. They are both buried in the McKee cemetery.

Alexander Rodger owns 70 acres. lot 10, con. 8, where he resides, and 50 acres on lot 11, con. 8, while his brother William owns the balance of the 122 acres on lot 10 and 11.

Alexander Rodger has a most commanding position for a residence overlooking Belwood, with one of the finest views in the township. He has a fine brick residence, bank barns, a brick stable and everything needed for a successful farmer. He is a Congregationalist and a Liberal. He m. Jane Bilton.
