PAGE, John (d.), was b. in Nottinghamshire, England, in 1819, and d. in 1881, age 62. He was a farmer in Eng., and in 1847 came to Canada and rented a farm on the Waterloo Rd., Guelph Tp., for two years. In 1849 he rented 100 acres in Peel Tp., and in 1858, purchased 150 acres and later 33 1/3 acres, part of lots 14 and 15, con. 13 Maryborough. He was Trustee of S.S.No. 6, for six years. He was a class leader, and held the various offices of the Methodist church. In politics he was a Reformer. He m. Ann Lee, who d. 1899, age 82. Issue: Frank, Mrs. Andrew Morrow, Lunsden, Sask.; Garner, Drayton, and Mrs. John Velie, Minneapolis.

The late John Page arrived in Canada without means, and by dint of industry and good management accumulated a nice property, leaving an estate, at the time of his death, valued at $18,000.

Frank, b. 1848, in Guelph To., was 10 years of age when he came to Maryborough. He succeeded to the homestead at his father's death, and carries on mixed farming. He has been Trustee of S.S. No. 6, for 6 years. He is an Free Thinker, and a Conservative. He m. first Rebecca Whitely. Issue: Franklin, and Mrs. Reginald Morrow in Lunsden , Sask. His second wife was Eliza Whitely, Issue : Herbert and Arthur (twins), and Alice. He m. for his third wife, Emma Hodge. No issue.
