MOIR, Forbes , (d.), came from Aberdeenshire, Scot., 1858, and took up a farm of 250 acres, lot 8 & 9, con. 4, West Garafraxa. He m. Elizabeth MacGregor, who d. in 1899, while he predeceased her in 1884.

Forbes Moir, b. Aberdeen, Scot. 1851, is the only son and child of the above. He succeeded to the homestead at his father's death. He is an intelligent, well read man, and has been prominent in the municipal affairs of the township. In 1893 he was elected to the Township Council of West Garafraxa, and during the succeeding seven years served as Councillor, Deputy Reeve, and Reeve. He was for some years School Trustee and Township Auditor, and for the past 21 years he has been Justice of the Peace and Postmaster of Spier's Postoffice at Spier's Station on the C.P.R. in the middle of his farm. He is a Presbyterian and a Liberal. In 1878 he m. Agnes Gerrie. Issue: Mrs. Fred Flewelling, Peel; Mrs. Harry Jones, Orillia; Forbes, Byron, killed by a railroad accident in 1904, at the age of 18; Mary, John, James and Alexander L., at home.
