JEFFREY, John , was b. In Stirling, Scot., in 1838, and came to Puslinch Tp. in 1856, at eighteen years of age. He farmed at Aberfoyle for about two years, and then managed the Todd estate, Brock road, for widow Todd for five years, after which he worked near Aldershot five years, and then came to the old Hugh Cockburn farm of 100 acres, lot 16, rear con. 8, Puslinch, to which Mrs. Jeffrey fell heir, and has since live there. It is known as "Gowan Hill" farm. Mr. Jeffrey is a Presbyterian and a Liberal, and was Trustee of S. S. No. 4 for three years. He m. Rachel Somerville. Issue :John D. S., Maggie, Jessie, William and Stirling all at home.
