GROFF, Issac, Sr
., was b. in Waterloo Co., 1854, came to Peel in 1876, and owns 150 acres, lot
14, con. 3, and lot 15, con. 2, where he carries on mixed farming, and feeds a
large number of cattle for export, keeping about 80 head during the winter. Mr.
Groff, with his brother, now in Minnesota, bred Durham cattle, which they
exhibited with great success, at Toronto and other fairs; their Shorthorn
grades and fat cattle, taking a large number of prizes. The buildings on the
place are among the finest in Wellington County, the house being of red brick
form Milton, and the farm is in a high state of cultivation. Mr. Groff is a
vigorous, up-to-date man, highly respected; a Mennonite, and a Liberal in
politics, in which he takes a great interest, but has never sought office. He
