FRITZ, Jacob (d.), b. Wertenberg, Germany, in 1824, d. 1869, age 45. He was a mason by trade. In 1844 with his wife and family he came to Buffalo, and shortly afterwards to Puslinch, and worked at his trade in Morriston, until his death. He was a member of the Evangelical church, and in politics a Reformer. He m. Elizibeth Barth, in Germany. Issue: Mary (d.), Mrs. Alexander Clark, Hamilton; Jacob; Mrs. Charles Gerber, Buffalo; John, Guelph; William, Huron Co.; Mrs. Wm. James, Buffalo; Mrs. Scheer, Rochester; Charles, Huron Co., and Rosie (d.) in infancy.

Jacob was a blacksmith for 15 years in Morriston, after which be purchased lot 27, and part of lot 2S, front con. 7, about 95 acres. He carries on mixed farming.. He is an Evangelical and a Conservative. He m. Mary Bach. Issue: Clara, Ida, William, Christian and Arthur.
