FOLEY, Michael
, b. in Co. Cork, Ire., in 1803, d. 1895, at 92 years of age.
He came to Canada about 1860, and set., first in Nassagaweya Tp., and later
in E. Flamboro, near Freelton, where he owned 84 acres. He was a R. C., and
a Conservative. He m. Mary Connell in Ire. Issue: Andrew, owns rear lot 36,
con. IX., Puslinsh, and lives retired in Hamilton; John (d.), was on the
Flamboro homestead; Thomas; Catharine (d.) ; Mrs. Michael Duffy, and Mrs.
Joseph McCulloch, Freelton.
Thomas, left home at 25 years of age, He farmed in Beverley Tp. for 5 years, then came to Puslinch Tp., and rented a farm for five years. He then rented the Mahon farm, con. IX, until 1904, when the family moved to lot 29, con. X., 200 acres, which Thomas Jr., bought. He is a R.C., and a Conservative. He m. Ellen Hanrahan. Issue: Michael, prop. Trade Review, Montreal, and the owner of the Savoy hotel, Montreal; Thomas, Jr., John, Fred, in Montreal with Michael; Henry, framer, Washington; Joseph, real estate dealer in Saskatoon; William, liveryman in N. Dakota, and Mrs. Wm. Quisk, Aberfoyle. Thomas, single, owns the Henning homestead, lot 29, con. 10, 200 acres. He carries on mixed farming, and is a R.C., and a Conservative. John, m. Maggie McRory .
