BYWATER, H. E.
, is the eldest son of the late R. E. Bywater, who carried on a jewelry, drug
and stationery store in the village of Colborne. At the age of 18 he entered
the office of the Northumberland Enterprise, where he secured the rudiments of
the printing art. Mr. Bywater first embarked in business in Warkworth,
Northumberland Co., where, in company with Mr. W. H. Henry, he founded the
Warkworth Journal. He has since published the Beamsville Express , Meaford
Monitor and the Arthur Enterprize and Wellington News, with which he is at
present identified. In 1902 he issued an illustrated edition of Meaford,
which contained biographical sketches of Premier Ross and his Cabinet. In
1904 Mr. Bywater issued an illustrated edition of Arthur and surrounding
townships. He m. Miss Dorothy Spike of Meaford, July 27, 1897.
