ANDERSON, Isaac
was b. Kent, Eng., 1826, and came to Canada in 1842. He took
a farm in Garafraxa, where he stayed about five years, and then bought the
Hindley homestead, Eramosa, where his family were principally educated. Owing
too his large family and the cheap land, he decided to go to Luther, where he
thought they could have better opportunities. In 1880 he came up to Luther,
and set. on 131 acres, lot 10, conc. 6, which he had purchased. He improved
the place, put up buildings, etc., making it one of the best farms in the
district, and is now living retired, respected by all his fellow citizens. He
is a Congregationalist and a Liberal. In 1851 he m. Margaret Hindley, who is
living, age 75. Issue: Mrs. James Bresnahan, N.W.T.; George, Columbus, Ohio;
John, Chicago; William, Luther; James (d. 28); Mrs. James Peters, B.C.; Mrs.
Porterfield, Alberta; Hannah N., at home; Newton, Luther, and Albert, in
Alberta. William owns the homestead, to which he has added 50 acres, making
181 in all. He carries on mixed farming and is very successful. He s a
Liberal in politics. In 1887 he m. Sarah, fourth dau. of the late John
Bresnahan. Issue: Katie, James, Lizzie, William, Annie, John, George and
Helen
