JASON QUENTIN HAGEN
November 1, 1972 September 25, 2011
In loving memory of Jason Quentin Hagen.
Its been a year since we lost you, Jason, to an intense, 11-month battle with cancer. There are no words to express our pain and how much we miss you. Not a day goes by when we dont shed a tear as we think of you. And yet when we reflect on how you lived your life to the fullest, never backing down from a challenge, without ever complaining, we find the strength to get through another day of missing you.
Everything around us reminds us of youyour love of Manitoulin and all the beautiful summers we shared together, your enthusiasm for woodworking, the pizza oven you built, the hot tub, the lake and the sleep camp. We reminisce about your bright-eyed interest in everything around you as a child, your accomplishments in education, Cadets, your career, your bungee jumping adventures that you told us about after the fact, your love of canoeing, kayaking, skiing, hunting, and your biathlon victories. Your contagious smile, infectious laughter, personable approach, adventurous spirit and boundless determination to excel at whatever you set out to do, made you unforgettable to everyone who met you.
Remembering your unwavering devotion to your family and your encouragement to your children to just try your best warms our hearts through our pain. We are so grateful for your most precious gift to us; your children, Bastiaan and Olivia who share so many of your qualities. Your generous character and your inner strength was always an inspiration to us and others. And through our tears, we remember how you always kept smiling.
You will always be in our hearts.
We love you, Jinx.
Love, Mom and Dad.
Manitoulin Expositor, September 26, 2012

HAGENIn memory of my amazing, caring, loving brother, Jason Quentin Hagen, who would be celebrating his 40th birthday on November 1, 2012.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Not a day goes by that I dont think of you and remember the great memories we shared. I am very grateful and fortunate to have had you as an older brother to look up to, value, and give me strength. This has been a very difficult journey for us; you will always be loved and remembered.
Your little sister Ange and nephew Lawson.

This song has always reminded me of you and is a perfect tribute to you. We have missed you everyday for the last two years. Your gifts of kindness and generosity will last forever.
Kind and Generous
Youve been so kind and generous,
I dont know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I am in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
For everything youve done Im bound to thank-you forever.
Youve been so kind and generous,
I dont know how you keep on giving,
For your kindness I am in debt to you,
I never could have got this far without you.
For everything youve done Im bound to thank-you forever.
I want to thank-you for so many gifts,
You gave your love and tenderness.
I want to thank you for your generosity,
The love and the honesty that you gave me.
I want to thank-you, show my gratitude,
My love and my respect for you.
I want to thank-you, thank-you, thank-you.

HAINES, Harry--In loving memory of our Dad and Grandpa who passed away on March 26th, 2003.
To paraphrase the words of Rev. Faye Stevens at Dad's funeral, the past year has been a mixture of mourning and weeping but also laughing and rejoicing and mainly just plain old missing him. How many times have we wanted to pick up the phone for a visit or stop in for a cup of tea and chew over the latest predicaments, be they personal or political and get his feedback and pronouncements. We miss those special times and will cherish the ones from the past forever.
We hope you were greeted at the gates of heaven with a firm "hello" and "Bless your heart" and that you were ushered into a place of health and plentiful water and good farmland. A lace where you had no more pain, there were no answering machines or faster computers and that no one offered you a cat! But, as Rev. Faye remarked, just to keep you sharp and on your toes, even though it's heaven, we hope there might be a sprinkling of Liberals!! Lovingly remembered always, Carol, Cliff, Ken, Diane, Art, Doug, Katherine, and their Families

HALL--In loving memory of Herbert James "Jim" Hall, brother-in-law and uncle who passed away August 20th 2006.
He meant so much to us
But nothing we can say
Can tell the sadness in our hearts
As we think of him each day
He always was true and tender
He lived his life
For those he loved
And those he loved remember
Put your arms around him Lord
Treat him with special care
Make up for all he suffered
And all that seems unfair.
Sadly missed and never forgotten.
Love Dale, Carol and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, September 5, 2007

HALL--In memory of, John, who passed away 2 years ago December 18, 1999.

Forever to bloom in the Master's bouquet.
--Always remembered by Gail and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 19, 2001

HALL--In loving memory of a dear mother and grandmother, Pearl, who passed away October 4, 2001.
It's been a year since you have gone
There's not a day that I don't think of you
I miss the times the phone would ring
And I'd hear, "Well, what's everybody doin"
I always knew just where you'd be
You were always there
Sitting just inside the door
On your favourite kitchen chair.
Sometimes there'd be a pot of soup
Or stew simmering on the stove
Sometimes the smell of fresh baked bread
Of course, you'd only baked 12 loaves!
And then the kettle I'd put on
And we would have a cup of tea
We would discuss the day's events
And who had been in for you to see.
Sometimes we would look through pictures
And talk of days gone by
You'd explain about the family
And who did what and why!
I know that you were tired Mom.
So many times you fought and won
But this time the battle was too great
And your fighting days are done.
God please take special care of her
She suffered more than she deserved
I pray that in your garden, there was,
A special spot for her, reserved.
We will always love and miss you Mom
And there is nothing I would not give
To walk through your door and see you,
Sitting on your favourite kitchen chair.
You will always be in our hearts Mom! We Miss you lots.
--Love, Lori, Matthew, Leanne, Christy, Mike, Connor, Mandy and Becky.

Your memory lingers yet.

HALL-In loving memory of a dear brother, Seward, who passed away August 2, 2000.
The blow was great, the shock severe,
We little thought the end was near,
And only those who have lost can tell
The pain of parting without farewell;
More each day we miss you, father,
Friends may think the wound is healed,
But they little know the sorrow
That lies within our hearts concealed.
--Sadly missed by Evertt, Rita and family.
Manitoulin Expositor, August 1, 2001

HALL--In memory of my dear father, Seward, who passed away August 1, 2000.
A day does not go by that I do not think of you. I miss our baseball nights, out talks while we sat by the pond and especially hunting season. Every time I see a deer I think of you. If God's home has a river to fish and a bush to hunt I know that you'll be happy and some day we'll meet and do these things again, together. You are greatly missed by all of us.
--Loved and missed forever, Sherry, Dave, Tavis, Tara and Jacob.

IN MEMORY--In memory of Seward HALL, August 1, 2000, Dwight McGauley, July 11, 2000, Eileen Smeltzer, July, Nancy Miller, May 3, 2000.
The sun sets, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land
The tide recedes, but leaves behind the seashells and the sand,
The music stops but echoes on still in sweet refrains
For every joy that passes
Something beautiful remains

HALLETT--In loving memory of our dear Mom and Grandma, Vivian, who passed away June 20, 1997.
Our lives go on without you,
And nothing is the same,
We have to hide our heartache,
When someone speaks your name,
Sad are these hearts that love you,
Silent the tears that fall,
Living our lives without you,
Is the hardest part of all.
You did so many things for us,
Your heart was kind and true,
And when we needed someone,
We could always count on you.
The special years will not return,
But with the love within our hearts,
You will be with us forever.

We knew that morning God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, Your love and teachings still our guide,
And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

Hello, Dad, in the same old way.

HANER, Joan-- In memory of Joan Haner who passed away on May 28, 2003.
One year ago today God looked down around his garden and found an empty place.
He then looked upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted to one rest.
His garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
I know we will unite someday, so we try not to cry.
He whispered to you peace be thine and gave you wings to fly.
It broke our hearts to see you go, but you didn't go alone for part of
us took flight with you. When the Lord called you home. We will love you always.
Lovingly remembered by husband Harold, daughter Pam and grandchildren Jenna and Courtney.

HANNAH--In loving memory of Eleanor Hannah, 1923 - 2004.
My First Christmas in Heaven
See the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above
I send you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessings He has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remembering that I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
Love from all the family, Mom.
Manitoulin Expositor, December 22, 2004

HANNAH--In loving memory of Eleanor Hannah, February 27, 1923 - January 10, 2004.
Softly in the morning
You heard a gentle call
You took the hand God offered you
And quietly left us all.
The day you left us Mom
Our hearts just broke in two
The smallest part is still with us
And the biggest part with you.
For the rest of our lives,
We will miss you, Mom
Our secret tears still flow
Oh, how we really loved you
No one will ever know.
We miss your smile, your joking ways,
We miss the things you use to say
And when old times we do recall
It's then we miss you most of all.
You were always there when we needed you.
No task too great or small
With loving heart and willing hands
For us you did it all.
Look around your garden Lord
And when she turns and smiles
Put your arms around her
And hold her for a while.
Loving you always, Mom. Hugs and Kisses from the family.
Manitoulin Expositor, January 11, 2005

HANNAH--In loving memory of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Joe, who passed away September 9, 1999.
There is a bridge of memories
From here to heaven above
That keeps you very close to us
It's called a bridge of love
As time goes on without you
And days turn into years,
They hold a million memories
And a thousand silent tears.
To us you were very special,
What more is there to say,
Except to wish with all our hearts,
That you were here today.
--Sadly missed and always remembered by the family.
Manitoulin Expositor, September 5, 2001

HANNAH--In loving memory of Joseph V. Hannah. 1912-1999.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He closed His arms around you
And whispered "Come to me".
Your golden heart stopped beating,
our gentle hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken,
You fought so hard to stay.
What you suffered, you told few,
You didn't deserve what you went through.
Tired and helpless, you made no fuss,
And tried so hard to stay with us.
But, when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
Lost from sight
But always in our hearts.
--Your loving family
Manitoulin Expositor, September 4, 2002

HANNAH--In loving memory of Joseph Hannah, 1912 - 1999.

Though absent, you are ever near,
Still missed, still loved, and ever dear.
Love, the family.
