Kent Eugene "Gene" Eccles , affectionately known as "Pa-Pa" passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Midwest City. Born September 7, 1929 in Mansfield, Ohio to John and Edith (Wilcox) Eccles . Kent was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High. After high school, Kent enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force where he proudly served his country. A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Kent worked as an insurance agent.

He married Ella Lea Coleman on March 30, 1968. Kent enjoyed reading, watching old movies, fishing and spending time with his grandsons and family. Kent was lector, Eucharist Minister and a member of Knights of Columbus.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ella Lea and his parents; Kent is survived by his son, John Kent Eccles and wife Audra; daughter, Mary Juanella Eccles ; grandsons, Jayden and Chase; brother, Rev. William Douglas Eccles , whom he enjoyed reminiscing over childhood memories, and many other relatives and dear friends. The family would like to receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Thursday, May 1, 2008. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 2, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Nicoma Park. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw.  Barnes Friederich FH
