Mrs. Ada Lee Brandenburg, 2037 Howard Ave., died at
9:35 p.m. yesterday at Middletown Hospital after an extended illness.
Surviving are husband, Clay; two sons, Douglas
and Marvin of Middletown; two sisters, Mrs. Sue
Mallott and Mrs. Sadie Naegelen of Middletown;
three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Middletown
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Lee Brandenburg, 64,
of 1311 Casper street, who died at the city hospital Tuesday , were held
at McCoy funeral parlors at 2 p.m. today, Rev. Wilson officiating. Burial
was in Middletown Cemetery.

Arthur Elsworth Brandenburg
Arthur Brandenburg, 73, of 1461 Hart Road, Lebanon,
died Sunday, February 26 at Lebanon Health Care Center.
He was a former resident of Kings Mills and Mason. His wife, Mary
Bent Brandenburg, preceded him in death in 1982.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Peggy Cook of Lebanon;
two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are seven sisters, Pauline Wilson of Mason,
Elizabeth Young of Largo, Fla., Lois Doyle
and Millie Matthews, both of Lebanon, and Lolaetta
Manly, Charlotte Clark and Shirley Martin,
all of Kings Mills; and three brothers George of Foster,
Carl Jr. of Kings Mills and Richard
of Oneida, Ky.
Services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Shorten Funeral Home,
Mason, with the Rev. Dave McCowan officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill
Cemetery, Mason.

Bertha Mae (Lewis) Brandenburg
Bertha Brandenburg
Bertha Mae (nee Lewis) Brandenburg, 92, of South Lebanon
since 1944, died April 19, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Ezel, Ky., on June 26, 1907, to James T. and Joan
(nee Cecil) Lewis and was a member of the Kings Point Church
of God. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering, reading and canning
foods. Mrs. Brandenburg was a dedicated homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Conley Morgan
Brandenburg (Jan. 19, 1982); and brothers Winifred, Elmer
and Courtney Lewis.
Survivors include sons Conley M. Brandenburg Jr. of Lebanon
and Richard Brandenburg of South Lebanon; daughters Pauline
Johnson, Lillian Johnson, Geneva Kilburn, all of Lebanon, Janet
Napier and Phyllis Chasteen, both of South Lebanon; brothers
Ezra Lewis of Lebanon and Paul Lewis
of Wilmington; a sister Goldie Barnhart of Clarksville;
16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral service were held April 21 at the Kings Point Church
of God with Pastor Randy Ballard officiating.Interment in Deerfield
Cemetery, South Lebanon. Arrangements by Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home,
Lebanon.

Claudia Brandenburg
Claudia E. Brandenburg, 82, of Lebanon and formerly of Harveysburg, died Sunday, July 2 at Otterbein-Lebanon.
She was a former employee at Lingo's Hardware and Brown's Laundry in Lebanon. She graduated from Harveysburg High School, was a member of the Harveysburg United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Eastern Star in Harveysburg. She was preceded in death by husband Robert in 1973; and sister Josephine Inez Pennington in 1956.
She is survived by a nephew and his wife Dan and Margaret Pennington of Lebanon; one great nephew and his wife Mark and Beth Pennington of Lebanon; and several cousins.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5 at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville with Rev. Tom Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
If desired, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Clay Brandenburg
Clay Brandenburg, 92, a resident of the Franklin Nursing
Inn the past 2 1/2 years, formerly of 1037 Howard Ave., died at Middletown
Hospital at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday after an extended illness.
Mr. Brandenburg was born in Beattyville, Ky., and had lived here more
than 70 years. He worked at the former Barkelew Electric as a grinder,
retiring in 1958. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 528, and
Loyal Order of Moose 501.
His wife Ada, died April 18, 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas of Middletown and
Marvin of Middletown; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
a brother Lee of Beattyville, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs.
Bertie Haynes of Winchester, Ky.
Funeral services will be at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home Saturday
at 10 a.m., the Rev. Donald Steffy officiating. Burial will be at the
Middletown
Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Douglas Brandenburg
Douglas Brandenburg, 2037 Howard Ave., died early Saturday
morning at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Brandenburg was retired from the Barkelew Electric Co.
He is survived by two sons, Charles of Morrow, and Roger,
of Middletown; a daughter, Mrs. Marcia Coolidge, of Tacoma,
Wash.; a brother, Marvin, of Middletown; and five grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy_Leffler
Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Foley officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery.

LOCAL BARBER DEATH VICTIM
George P. Brandenburg Dies Wednesday
George P. Brandenburg, 38, proprietor of a barber shop
at 40 South Broad Street, died early Wednesday morning at his home, 67
South Main Street, from a heart attack.
Although he had been ill several weeks, he was in his shop Tuesday and
worked the full day. Complication of ailments had under minded his health
recently, although heart disease was given as the immediate cause of death.
As a business man, the Broad Street barber was a popular and earned large
patronage by his ability and his personable manner.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ruth Brandenburg; two
stepchildren, Edward and Delores Fletcher; one daughter,
Emma Dean Brandenburg, and one sister, Ruth Brandenburg
of Franklin.
The funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home.
Friends will be received there after 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. I.M. McVey
of Calvary Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodside
Cemetery

OBITUARY.
John Brandenburg was born December 22nd, 1846 at Kings Mills, Ohio, and died at his home in Lebanon, Ohio, July 27, 1925, aged 78 years, 7 months and 4 days.
He answered the call of his country, enlisting at Camp Dennison, O., as Private of Caption [sic] Ashbury P. Gatch Co., L. 9th Ohio Cavalry. He was enrolled on the 18th day of November 1863 to serve three years or during the war, and was honorably discharged from the service of the United States, the 20th day of July, 1865, at Lexington, North Carolina. He was with Sherman on the march to the sea, and on through South and North Carolina, he saw hard service.
On February 15th, 1868, he was united in marriage to Susan Jane Little,
three children were born to this union, Court, Lottie and Pearl, all having
preceded him to their home above.
When quite young he became a member of the Christian Union church at West
Woodville, Ohio, where he faithfully served, until, with his family moved
to Arthur, North Dakota, when he transferred his membership to the Congregational
church where he was a faithful and devoted member.
He has been afflicted for many years, but bore his sufferings bravely, always trying to live under “The Golden Rule.”
He leaves a wife, and adopted son, two sisters, three nieces, and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
To his wife who understands this separation, as no one else can know – to her will come the unsatisfied longing for a sight of the dear face, hidden away beneath the sod, and a yearning for the familiar voice forever hushed.
May she be enabled to look up through her tears and great loss, to the
one who cares and understands.

LEBANON - Marvin Brandenburg, 70, of Lebanon, formerly
of Middletown, died Sunday at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.
Mr. Brandenburg was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and
Ada Brandenburg; a brother Douglas; and a sister
Marlene.
He is survived by a nephew, Charles of West Union, Ohio.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at the Stine Funeral Home, 801
Monroe Road, the Rev. J.B. Walters, officiating. Burial was at Middletown,
Cemetery.
Visitation was held prior to the service.

Robert Eugene Brandenburg
BRANDENBURG, Robert E. (Bud), age 54, of 83 Cross St., Harveysburg, died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He had been ill for three days. His wife Claudia E. Gray, whom he married August 28, 1942 survives.
Born May 24, 1919 in South Lebanon, he was the son of Roy and Mary Conner Brandenburg. His father, who lives in Lebanon, Oh survives. He was a 27 year employee of NCR and a member of their 25 Year Club. He was a member of the Harveysburg United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was a 25 year member of Warren Chapter No. 224 Ohio Eastern Star in Harveysburg, a 25 year member and Past Master of Harveysburg Lodge No. 312, F&AM; Past High Priest of Wilmington Chapter No. 63, Royal Arch Masons; member of the Wilmington Council No. 116, Royal and Select Masons; and Wilmington Commandery No 37 Knights Templar.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father are three sisters, Mrs. Melva Tewart, of Middletown, Mrs. Frances Parker, of Pataskala, 0h., and Mrs. Nellie Boggs, of Enon, 0h.; one brother, Ralph, of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home, Waynesville, Rev. R. David Harper officiating. Interment Miami Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Masonic services 9: 00 p.m.
