Comments:
  • This Bible is from the family of Thompson Lamb 1824-1906 and Elizabeth Ann Bunnell 1826-1905 who married in Warren Co., OH and later moved to McDonough Co., IL. He was a son of Joseph Q. Lamb and Hester “Hetty” Davis. She was a daughter of William Bunnel and Mary Casaday. The Bible provides important information regarding the Bunnel / Bunnell and Lamb families.
  • The Bunnel(l) family is one that I have not fully researched. On the “Births” page William Bunnel and Mary (Cassaday) Bunnel were the parents. Survivors of Elizabeth Ann Lamb, according to her obituary, included two brothers, Oliver Bunnell of Bethany, O., John Bunnell of Middletown, O., and two sisters, Mrs. Ross McClung of Mason, O., and Mrs. Sarah Beicaw of Monroe, O. The William Bunnel family must have consisted of the 11 children as listed in the Bible. Also listed are William Bunnel’s brothers and sisters, all children of Abner Bunnel and Anne Scudder of Warren Co., OH; and the brothers and sisters of Mary (Cassaday) Bunnell.
  • On the “Baptisms” page, Hettie Lamb, William B. Lamb, Joseph O. Lamb, and Mary E. Lamb were children of Thompson and Elizabeth Ann Lamb.
  • In the right half of the “Baptisms” page are listed earlier Lamb births. The first three births were children of Joseph Q. Lamb and his first wife, Hester “Hetty” Davis, including Thompson Lamb. The next eight births were children of Joseph Q. Lamb and his second wife, Margaret J. Lowe. This is the only record found that provides names and dates for three of the children: William D. Lamb, John Lamb, and Joseph Lamb. Males of their ages were not included in the Lamb household in census records of 1830, and 1840. So, those children likely died young.
  • Joseph Q. Lamb was a son of Joseph Lamb and Ruth Scudder of Warren Co., OH who are buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Lebanon, OH.
  • William Bunnel was the son of Abner Bunnel and Anne Scudder. Ruth Scudder and Anne Scudder were daughters of Benjamin Scudder and Sarah Cory who resided in NJ.
  • Thompson and Elizabeth Ann Lamb are buried in Industry Cemetery, Industry, McDonough Co., IL.
  • Joseph Q. Lamb and his second wife, Margaret J. Lowe, are buried in Lebanon Cemetery, Warren Co., OH.
