I'm looking for DICES in KNOX CO circa 1830-1870. My g grandfather FREDERICK DICE was born in Fredricktown, OH 11 Nov. 1869; his father was WALLACE DICE; I do not know who Wallace's wife(Frederick's mother) was; I believe Wallace's father WILLIAM DICE b. 1814 Fountian Co, IN, might've come to Knox Co from IN years earlier with his brothers PHILLIP DICE and ELI DICE. A PHILLIP DICE appears on a 1850 Ohio Census entry for Knox Co, Morris Township; WILLIAM and PHILLIP both appear on a 1840 Ohio Census for Knox County. Where might I get a birth record for the Frederick DICE above? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm pretty new at this.

Thanks,
Ric Dice

Hello,

Anthony King (with wife, Gertrude Keifer and son, Anton, jr.) and sister Maria Anna (along with husband Martin Fisher) came to Knox Co from Germany in 1845. Another brother, Lawrence King was already living in Knox co.

Lawrence King married Hannah Draper, daughter of Jacob and Mary (Derbin) Draper. They had the following children: Mary (m to Absalom Buckingham), Albert, Lillie F. (m to Clem Sapp), Julius (m to Ollie Durbin), Thomas (m to Agnes Eckenrode), Alice, and Clem (m to Tina Smithhisler).

Anthony King and Martin Fisher moved their families to Mercer co in the 1870's, but Lawrence and another sister Tarecia still lived in Knox Co. I'm interested in finding anyone with more info on the famiies Lawrence and Tarecia. I don't know if Tarecia was married or not, I only know that she came over with Lawrence when they were in their teens.

Thanks,

Does anyone know anything of the Huse family that lived in Licking county circa 1800. I find a Zevolena Huse mar. George Mathias Stadden on 28 Sept 1838. She was the daughter of James and Betsy Whittaker Huse. (That's all I know about the Huse's so far.)

I am seeking to connect with the family of a Mira Hussa who mar. John Moody in 1828 and could have been a relative of this family given a bit of leeway with the surname. The Staddens and Moodys were very close families. John Moody's father William mar. Mary Stadden, a sister of George's father, Isaac.

Thanks for any help.

I answered several queries individually, I went through all 1998 queries, and had answers to three of them, as the people were in my family line. Did not realize you had a page so everyone could read them. My ancestors are in the Tiverton, Coshocton Co, to Danville, Knox Co axis and are buried everywhere, but mostly in the Workman family cemetary, Union Township. I have 2 sources of information, a 6 page, handwritten paper, in 1935, where 3 aged aunts wrote down everyname and everybirth and death date they could remember.
The other is the Family History Library computer has my Workman family line going back to Holland 1574,. Nicholas Workman, and I answered those queries by going through a printout of that. I am leaving this site, and going over to Coshocton County, and see if I can be of assistance there.
