Brown Cemetery
1 Mile north of Bethel on Bethel-Concord Road on left-- in field.
Before 3059 Bethel-Concord Road.
N38◦ 35.5200 W084◦
2.6820
Directions: Take St. Rt. 133 north out of Bethel towards
Williamsburg. As soon as you exit
the town at Kennedy Ford Road – get ready to go left on Bethel Concord
Road. Measure 1
mile from here and look on your left and you will see a wooded brushy
area in the middle of a
field. I parked at the neighbors drive after I asked and
walked to the area. Easy access.
Pictures taken by Pamela Smith in the fall 2010. I was
excited to photograph this
cemetery because I have been looking in our library at information
about this cemetery
collected by others. I am glad they are still plowing around
it and hope this continues
forever. You have to bend down within the cemetery.
You are completely covered
by a tent of bushes. Unfortunately, like others before me, I
was unable to find John
Brown’s stone. Bob Orr (a Brown researcher) sent me a few
pictures he had from
many years ago. I am using one of his photos taken of Sarah
Brown’s stone, as it is
so much clearer.
