Heritage Farm

Thanks to grants for the purchase and restoration of historical properties, the City of Brunswick was able to acquire a 32 acre farm on Laurel Road to create recreational space and a home for the Brunswick Area Historical Society. Approximately 28 acres of the farm will be transformed into a park, with the remaining property having been preserved as a farmstead known as Heritage Farm. Restored and furnished to replicate life on a small 1860's homestead, Heritage Farm features the house, privy, garage, corn crib, granary, equipment shed, barn, milk house, chicken house and gardens with heirloom vegetable and herb varieties. Always eager to add to its vast collection, the Historical Society welcomes donations of artifacts dated between 1860 and 1930. Heritage Farm is a unique, valuable connection to local history, serving the community's educational as well as recreational needs. Having drawn over 500 guests at its July 4, 2000 grand opening, the farm continues to attract visitors from far and wide.
