I have come across a Salter Family Bible. The owner informed me that the family was from Hants County and after some research (LDS) I believe this is the family of John Salter and Mary Smith. John born in Newport Hants Co. March 6th 1770. I also looked through the 1871 Census index for Hants Co. and found a number of people who could be the children listed below (having the same name and approximate birth dates). The title page of the bible indicates that it was "Instituted in London in the year 1804."
