Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Church
Morris Co. Up

The Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Church is located in Randolph Twp., Morris County, New Jersey on Church Road & Sussex Turnpike, and according to The History of Morris County published by Munsell, the Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Church is the exact center of Mt. Freedom.

This traditional wooden building was put up in 1828, and enlarged in 1867-71. It has an emphasized pediment, which is probably a product of the later construction, but otherwise is about as plain a building as you are likely to findand in that respect, fairly typical of the early churches in sparsely-settled areas. The congregation was organized in 1820.

This building is listed in the National Register.

Mt. Freedom Presbyterian Church was organized July 9th 1820, by the Rev. Samuel H. Cox, of Mendham, and Rev. Jacob Green, of Succasunna, who were appointed a committee for this purpose by the Presbytery of Jersey.
