Shawn Dempsey is the NJGENWEB Essex County Coordinator and can be contacted via email here . Some of the town pages have not been converted to the latest style format yet. If you click on a link and see the old format (looks different than this page) please know that I am aware it is not complete and will eventually be converted.

At this site you will find information that will assist you in your genealogical research. All comments, questions, suggestions and criticisms are welcome. Volunteers are also needed to do lookups in books that they may have or have access to about Essex County.

Please be aware that the site coordinator is not able to perform individual research. The site coordinator is responsible for posting information on this site. However, if you have a question as to what direction to take, please email me and I will try to point you in the right direction.

Many of you have already contacted me about problems with the site. Or items to be added. Please know that I have all your suggestions and will get to them and post them when I start working on the corresponding sections of the website. This site is huge already so please be patient while I work my way through it all.

This site is affiliated with the NJGenWeb and USGenWeb Projects.

The State Coordinator is Denise Wells and she can be reached at [email protected].
The Assistant State Coordinators are Brianne Kelly-Bly and Linda K. Lewis.
