I am John Hansen, volunteer County Coordinator for Holmes County, Mississippi.  I adopted this site in August 2006 from Mari Byers, previous County Coordinator. I thank Mari, and others who have come before her, for carrying on the legacy of research in Holmes County.  I have never been to Holmes County, but I have family lines that traveled from nearby Carroll County, that are dead-ends in my research, and hence my interest in establishing as much information as possible on early history in the Middle Mississippi area.
