The Carleton College property in the Eastern section of Farmington has been sub-divided into one hundred lots and is to be sold Thursday, June 21st. The grounds have long been noted for its beauty with its large elm and maple trees, and many have expressed a wish that they would like to own a resident lot in these beautiful grounds. They will now have an opportunity to make that wish come true. The property adjoins the city on the Southeast and has the advantage of all modern improvements. On the North Ste. Genevieve street is to be a concrete pavement joining up with State highway No. 61; this improvement is to be paid for by the present owners.
In addition to the 100 fine resident lots which are to be sold; the old college building located on three lots will also be sold and the brick residence in the Northwest section of the property is also included in the auction sale. The residence has a lot 60 feet by 120 feet.
It is to be a big gala day for Farmington. In order to advertise the sale properly, the owners are giving away absolutely free a $500 lot and $50.00 in gold. A fine dinner is to be served by the ladies and a brass band will render music throughout the sale. The sale starts promptly at 11 a.m. Extremely liberal terms have been made so that the most humble pocket book can buy one of these beautiful home-sites. As an investment these lots will increase in value with the rising of every sun.

OF CARLETON LOTS
There is a great deal of interest being manifested in the coming sale of the Carleton College sub-division. The one hundred lots are nicely laid out and the many beautiful elms and maples will be saved. One of the big attractions of the sale is the modern brick 8-room residence on Ste. Genevieve avenue which is to be sold at auction. A new roof has just been put on the house and it has been newly decorated throughout; it is on a lot 60 by 120. The old college building is also to be sold and quite a number of contractors have been looking at this building. The college building is located on three lots; each 40 by 120.
The ladies of Farmington, are expecting a large crowd at the sale and are preparing to feed at least two thousand people. They will serve their dinner on the grounds. The Farmington Brass Band has been engaged to furnish the music for the entire day. It looks like a real Gala day for Farmington. In all probability the business men will close their business during the sale and everybody who is anybody will be out at the sale.
Many are asking for the free gift tickets and all seem to think they will be the lucky one to win the $5$00.00 [sic] lot or the 050.00 in gold. If you have not received one of these free tickets you should get one and bring it with you to the sale. They are no good unless you are present when these valuable gifts are given away.
The sale will be held Thursday, June 21. In our issue of last week and the date appeared as June 28, which was a typographical error.
The property belonged to about sixteen business men of Farmington who advanced funds some years ago to keep the property from being sold under foreclosure proceedings. These men were fortunate in leasing the property to the government after the close of the war for use of a vocational school and later to the county as a temporary court house. These two deals brought sufficient returns to reimburse the men and what was secured through the auction sale will be profit to them.
The lot given away thru a drawing was won by Mr. Orville Straughn of Farmington. The old college building and three lots sold to Mr. Perky of Farmington for $1050. The two story brick residence and one lot sold to F. W. Schramm for $3750.
