Ray Emmitt Jones (deceased) was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.  He served in the Pacific Theatre. 

In information supplied by G. Mabel Reed of Desloge, she said Jones participated in action against the enemy at Iwo Jima Feb. 24, 1945 through March 16, 1945.  He also participated in the occupation of Japan from Sept. 24, 1945 through Jan. 7, 1946.
