"Paws for Patriots"
State Project 2014-2015
Dear Missouri C.A.R. Members,
My great grandfather was not only a decorated veteran from WWII, Korea, and
Vietnam but he was also an important member of our family. My grandmother and aunts have spent their careers working in Veterans
hospitals, which I have visited with them since I was a young child. Because of my family history and connection to veterans,
I have always been sensitive to the concerns facing our soldiers as they return from war.
M.S.S.C.A.R. is working with the "Missouri Patriot Paws", a non-profit organization which rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to be service dogs for veterans. The 2014-15 State Theme is "Paws for Patriots" and the State President's Project is to raise funds to purchase one or more service dogs for veterans. These veterans are patriots and these service dogs can help them in untold ways as they re-enter society and strive to meet the challenges they will face.
Please support this program by buying a Project Dog Tag. You will also have the opportunity to win a stuffed service dog of your own, and there is a contest to name the service dog(s) we will give to veterans.
