John Elmer Reid, first husband of Christine Mae Morrison daughter of Lacey and Maude Ann
Caviness Morrison. John was born January 18, 1908 in Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa
but was living in Centerville while working with the state highway commission when he
met and married Christine November 18, 1930. While on business for the highway
commission at Spirit Lake, Iowa on July 30, 1932 he drowned in Lake Okoboji when on
a recreation break with two co-workers.
