Daily American Republic from 1939. ----- QULIN MAN HELD IN ASSAULT CASE ----- ......., 29 year old farm laborer residing at Qulin, was bound over to the October term of circuit court on statutory charges at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing held before, Justice of the Peace, R.L. Ledbetter, at Qulin this morning. .......was arrested while attending church services at Qulin last night by Deputy Constable Cecil Yeley, of Ash Hill township. The prisoner was brought to the county jail after he was unable to fill bond. Prosecuting Attorney Charles T. Bloodworth, Jr., filed charges of attempted criminal assault against the man upon complaint of the father of a five year old girl. Officers said the child's parents were neighbors of ..... . Constable Ben Brent then arrested Garver and took him before Justice of the Peace Bob Ledbetter at Qulin where Garver pleaded guilty to charges of fighting and was fined one dollar and cost.
