COMMISSION, 
STATE OF MISSOURI, IN THE COUNTY COURT, COUNTY OF (BLANK) SAID COUNTY.
THE STATE OF MISSOURI,  to all who shall see these presents—Greetings:
Know yea, THAT IN PURSUANCE OF "County Court Appointment" and in pursuance of the States in
such cases made and provided and by virtue of the power and authority in us vested, we do 
hereby APPOINT AND COMMISSION - "J W Hall" to the office of "Justice of Peace Gillis Bluff 
Township"  And he is hereby Authorized and Empowered to discharge the duties of said Office
 according to law;  To have and to hold the said office, with all the privileges and emoluments 
to the same of right pertaining unto him the said  "J W Hall"  for and during the term of  
 Four   "years"   from the date of this Commission and until his successor in said office 
shall be duly appointed and qualified.
 INTESTIMONY WHEREOF, we have caused this to be signed by the Presiding Justice of the 
County Court of said County and witnessed by the Clerk of said Court and the deal of said
 court to be affixed here to.  Done at  "Poplar Bluff"  in said County, this the  "26,"  
day of "Jan." 19 "35"

 Note:  The word "Appoint," as used in the fifth line from the beginning, is applicable 
alike to officers elected or appointed, and need not be charged or erased in case the 
officer commissioned has been elected.

hand written parts by using Quotation marks.    the ** marks are the part I 
could not read the letters well enough to be sure of the word, it was
another name than HALL
