Research Note: His wife was married to Rosa E. Evans. Son of Spencer Harrison Lenox and Caldonia Pettus. - Cassville Democrat Feb. 14, 1935 - John Campbell Lenox was born March 30, 1876 and died February 4, 1935 at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 4 days. He was married to Miss Rosa Ellen Evins, February 13, 1904. To this union were born four children three girls and one boy, namely Mrs. Nellie Salmons of Syracuse, Kansas, Mrs. Ella May Salmons of Ingalls, Kansas, Mrs. Faye Wardlow, of Kansas City, Mo., and Gale Lenox of the home. He was converted when a young man and joined the Methodist church living a devout Christian life until death, testifying that he was prepared to meet his Lord. He was very patient during his brief illness, realizing the end of his journey on earth was near. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four children, three grandchildren, his aged father, three brothers and four sisters, other relatives and a host of friends. His mission on earth is ended by is just beginning in that bright land where there will be no more trials, sufferings or separations. His passing had left not only a vacant place in the home, but will be felt throughout the entire community, as he was man who befriended everyone. For the past nine years he had driven a Seligman school bus, and was faithful to his task until his health failed him. His funeral services were conducted at the Rock Spring church, on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Frank F. Fine, assisted by Rev. Burns. Interment was made in the Rock Springs cemetery. - Cassville Democrat, Saturday, Feb. 14, 1920 - J. C. They are listed in the Barry Co., marriage records with marriage date Jan. 8, 1893. Lillie E. Reed was age 16 and Henry R. Lenox was age 23. - Daughter of Martha Hurd who married Thomas William Reed about 1879. In the 1880 Census, Martha, age 26, is living with her parents, William and Eliza Hurd, with Lillie Hurd, age 4, and Creed Hurd, age 1. These 2 children apparently took the name Reed which agrees with the later census records. Henry Richard Lenox, age 23, married Lillie E. Reed, age 17, on Jan. 8, 1893 in Seligman, Barry Co., MO. Her parents gave consent, not named on the marriage record. Henry second married Maggie Ramsey on Feb. 2, 1905 in Carroll Co., AR. They moved to Skagit Co., WA and he died there. Her Christian life was beautiful from its beginning to its close, and through all the vicissitudes and sorrows that she met in the way, her faith in God never wavered. But she has gone from her loved ones, in the summer time, and when the autumn leaves fall on another grave, that hides from our sight, all that is mortal of a true and noble women. Oct. 5, 1874 Research Note: First wife of Rev. William Seamster. Researchers say she was the daughter of John Rigsby and Elizabeth Howard. Susan Rigsby married William Seamster on Feb. 3, 1836 in Allen Co., KY. - Susan Wright Rigsby Seamster was born in the state of Kentucky, near Green, Allen County Dec. 19 1913. She was married to Rev. Williamson Seamster in KY on Feb. 11, 1836. She immigrated to MO an died at Rocks Springs, MO. She was a member of the Baptist Church 33 years and was baptized the same day as her husband. She reared 15 children and lived to witness the conversion of them all, 14 of whom have become members of the church. She has now gone to reward from her labors, and wait the arrival of her husband and children. Sister Seamster told her husband she must go, that her way was clear. All her regrets was leaving her husband and children. She exclaimed with joy, "My departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith, I am going home to receive my Crown of Glory." Although, we mourn her passing, our loss is Heavens gain, she departed this life, Oct. 5 1874, a worthy member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, where her body lies just before the door, beneath the little mound which is a memorial of her Christian Life Tranquill death and her Eternal Joy, around the throne of God where we desire to meet her by and by. - Written by Order of the Rock Springs Church where her husband is Pastor. Research Note: Williamson was the first minister at Rock Springs. His affiliation as a Mason is inscribed on both his original and replacement headstone. The original headstones for Williamson and Susan are broken in half and replacements are next to the originals. He first married Susan Right Rigsby in 1836 in KY. - Susan Rigsby married William Seamster on Feb. 3, 1836 in Allen Co., KY. - William Seamster second married Mary Ann Pendergraft on Aug. 3, 1975 in Barry Co., MO. - Researchers say he was the son of John William Seamster and Sarah LeGrande Seamster. - September 23, 1915, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Rock Springs News: All of ten living children of the late Wm. Seamster had a family reunion at Rock Springs last Saturday and Sunday. The members of the Seamster family present were: Steven Seamster age 73; F. M.; Martin; Bethewell; Robert; Isaiah; Amanda Campbell; Ellen Atwood; Julia Hedrick and Nancy Jemerson, making the ten children. A number of the grandchildren were also present The memorial service was preached at the church at 11 O'clock, Sunday, conducted by Rev. F. M. Seamster of Avoca, Ark. She was the wife of James Still of Ash township; they have resided in this section for many years. She was a member of the Baptist Church and was buried at the Rock Springs Cemetery.
