"Know all men by these presents that I, Elisha Yarbrough, Jr., of the County of Hanover and state of Virginia in consideration of the natural love and effection I have towards my three children, Viz: Thomas J., Margaret E. and Unity H. and for the further consideration of $1 to me in hand paid by the said T. J. Yarbrough &C. have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell and convey to the said T. J. Yarbrough, &c. and to their heirs and assigns forever all my personal estate of which I am now possessed consisting of three negroes, Viz: Daniel, Jenny, and Martha also one young horse, two Cows, six sheep, together with three beds and bedding, together with all and every other species of property with which I am now possessed: as also my reversionary right title and interest in the estate of Edmond Hooper, dec'd to them and their heirs forever. Given under my hand and seal this first day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty six. Elisha Yarbourgh (seal).
Hanover County, to wit: this Deed of gift was acknowledged before me in my office by Elicha Yarbrough, Jr., a party thereto and is thereupon admitted to record. witness my hand the 24th day of February 1827. Philip B Winston. C.H,C. a copy, teste, R.O. Doswell, D.C.H.C.
Elish Yarbrough, of Hanover County, on 1 October 1826, recorded 14 February 1827, executed a Deed of trust on all his personal property to his three infant children. Joseph Hooper qualified as their Guardian 23 July 1828. He is deceased in 1856 and Wm. T.H. Pollard is his personal representative. Hooper's securities were William Allen and Harwood Allen (deceased in 1856). 1. Thomas J. Yarbrough. 2. Margaret E. in 1856 wife of Miles GATHRIGHT. 3. Unity H. in 1856, wife of Thomas C. Jones. (This suit continues for more years, but is not included further due to its recent ended date).
