              This surname appears to be occupational in orgin.  It is generally  thought  that  all  variations  grew  out  of  the old High German word "glocka", meaning "bell".
      In German-speaking  areas, the  most  frequent  forms of this surname are "Glock" and "Glocke.   Dutch variations are "Klok", "Klock" and Klokke".   Similar forms to the Dutch are found in the Flemish areas of northern Belgium.
