of genealogy books both in the special

collections and in the general collection.
The library also has microfilms of

S. Census of Louisiana, genealogy periodicals,
and a subscription to the online service
Ancestry.com that includes access to numerous databases,
including images of the U. S. Census
(this
database is available only from within
the
Lafayette Public Library). The Lafayette
Genealogical Society holds its regular
meetings
at the library.
